Year Around Outdoor Activities Here in MN
In Minnesota, bad weather is normal. Most activities here, would be cancelled due to weather in California.
Minnesotans are a hearty bunch, holding Ice Golfing Tournaments out on frozen lakes in February. February is the worst, and coldest, weather month we have.
It’s good to keep all clothing and coverings readily available, you could wear shorts in March. Jackets may be needed in July due to wind and thunderstorms. In California, Winter clothes get packed away for summer clothes around April, not here.
Prairie winds are a constant, cropping up and dying down without regard to the season. We’ve quickly discovered that we’re going to have to learn to shoot in windy conditions of all sorts. Waiting for wind free days like we did in California just isn’t working out for us.
Regardless of the weather, Minnesotans get out and enjoy the outdoors. Hunting, ice fishing, hockey, boating, hiking, snowshoeing, all year around. If it gets chilly, we just light a bonfire to warm things up!
